Paulo J. Negro, M.D. Ph.D.
Paulo J. Negro, M.D. Ph.D. completed his fellowship in clinical research at the Intramural Research Program-NIMH, NIH in 1999. He performed residency in psychiatry at the University of Texas, San Antonio, and University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He worked at St Elizabeths Hospital and was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland. He was Medical Director of Behavioral Services of Suburban Hospital 2003-2006. He is currently appointed as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the George Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Negro is Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Administrative Psychiatry, Association for Convulsive Therapy, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is knowledgeable about the interface between medical and psychiatric problems, having conducted research in osteoporosis and depression, stress, and the brain effects of hormones.
